After six years on the road (2009-2014), the SP Tableware continental team will disappear at the season's conclusion. The Greek team has seen the best racers in the country pass through its ranks, such as former Euskaltel-Euskadi Ioannis Tamouridis, Perikilis Ilias and the Bouglas brothers. They also carried the colors of Spanish riders Mario García Sánchez in 2009 and the duo Victor de la Parte and Joaquin Sobrino in 2012 and 2013.
During these six years, the team won races in three continents: Europe, Africa and Asia. The first victory of importance came when Colombian Walter Pedraza won the third stage of the Tour of the Pyrenees in 2009 (2.2) at Cauterets. In 2012, the Spaniards began to make their mark with wins in the Tours of Algeria and Slovakia (both 2.2) for Sobrino and the Sibiu Tour and a stage in the Tour of Romania (both 2.2) for de la Parte. In 2013 de la Parte won a stage and the overall at the Tour of Algeria and Sobrino took the Five Rings of Moscow’s fourth stage.
This season, the team was comprised of only Greek riders. The leader was none other than Tamouridis, back home after a year in the Euskaltel team. Despite the presence of team in big races, the sponsor Pantelis Papazoglou will not support the team that put Greece on the map of cycling. Currently, only the team manager Vasileios Anastopoulos has found accommodation for 2015, in the new continental Dutch U23 team, SEG Racing, to fill the post of Performance Manager.
