Today it was the 5th stage of the Eneco Tour – 179,6 km from Riemst to Sittard-Geleen. Two riders broke clear in the first part of the race and were able to stay in front until the finish line. Thus, Johan Le Bon from FDJ became the stage winner, outsprinting his break companion Dylan Van Baarle from Cannondale-Garmin.
Third place 9 seconds behind the winner was for Magnus Cort from Orica-GreenEdge. The peloton arrived at the finish 27 seconds behind Le Bon. Katusha’s Viacheslav Kuznetsov finished in the main bunch in 20th position. Simon Spilak was dropped and is now out of GC contention.
Wilco Kelderman from Lotto NL-Jumbo is the leader of the general classification. Pavel Kochetkov and Viacheslav Kuznetsov are 28th and 29th, respectively, both 1 minute and 17 seconds behind the leader.
Tomorrow it is the 6th stage – 198 km from Heerlen to Houffalize.
