Bardiani achieved a solid result in the Tour of Denmark, where they took part in the opening stage with Nicola Ruffoni who finished 75h, winning the sprint behind the six escapees that attacked in the final tricky circuit.
The victory was taken by Dutch rider Lars Boom (Astana) who had an advantage over his companions and gained 39 seconds on the peloton, with Ruffoni first to cross the finish line.
”It was a demanding stage, a winter day unusual at this time of the year," sports director Mirko Rossato said. "However our riders delivered a solid performance, working together for our sprinter Ruffoni. Nicola (Ruffoni) proved to be in good shape, considering it’s the first race after the Giro d’Italia. We’re sorry for the crash and abandonment of Simone Sterbini. Now he’s going to the hospital for some medical examinations”."
