The Colombian Championships that will be held on February 7-8 in Rionegro, Antioquia, will feature the cream of Colombian cycling. Most WorldTour riders will be at the start.

 

Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), Rigoberto Uran (Etixx-Quick Step), Miguel Ángel López (Team Astana), Sebastián Henao (Team Sky), Julian Arredondo (Trek Factory Racing), Carlos Betancur (AG2R-La Mondiale), Winner Anacona ( Movistar Team), Dayer Quintana (Movistar Team), Esteban Chaves (Orica-GreenEDGE), Edward Beltran (Tinkoff-Saxo), José Serpa (Lampre Merida) and Jarlinson Pantano (IAM Cycling) have all confirmed their participation to the national federation. In fact, only three WorldTour riders will be missing: Darwin Atapuma (BMC Racing), Janier Acevedo (Garmin Cannodale) and Sergio Luis Henao (Team Sky) who are all recovering from injury.

 

From the Professional Continental teams, Carlos Alzate (UnitedHealhtcare), Isaac Bolivar (UnitedHealthcare), Miguel Angel Rubiano (Team Colombia), Alex Cano (Team Colombia), Darwin Pantoja (Team Colombia), Jonathan Paredes (Team Colombia) will be at the start while an in-form Daniel Jaramillo (Jamis Hagens Berman) will also test himself against the WolrdTour riders.

 

The event will begin on Saturday, February 7 with a 40.6 km individual time trial starting and finishing in Rionegro. The roads race will start in front of the EPM building in Medellin and finish at Mall Llanogrande in Rionegro after 188.8 kilometers.
