The 96th Giro d’Italia begins tomorrow in Naples. 207 riders of 30 different nationalities, representing 23 teams, will start the race.

58 Italians will start the race, in a peloton that also includes 17 Dutch riders, 16 Spaniards, 15 Colombians, 13 Belgians, 13 French riders, 10 Australians, 8 Russians, 6 British riders, 5 Germans, 5 riders from the USA, 4 Canadians, 4 riders from Portugal, 3 Danes, 3 Kiwis, 3 Polish riders, 2 Brazilians, 2 Croats, 2 Kazakhs, 2 Slovenians, 2 Swedes, 2 Swiss riders, 2 Venezuelans, 1 rider from Belorussia, 1 Chinese rider, 1 Estonian, 1 South African, 1 Lithuanian, 1 rider from Luxembourg, and 1 Ukrainian.

The Giro d’Italia on Television
The 2013 Giro d’Italia will be broadcast in 174 countries around the world on the following platforms: in Europe, in addition to three hours of live coverage on Eurosport (70 countries, all told, over Europe and the Asia-Pacific region), Giro d’Italia will be shown in Belgium by the Flemish channel VRT, by NOS in the Netherlands, by SRG SSR in Switzerland, by TV2 in Denmark and, in Spain, by the FORTE circuit (EITB Euskal Telebista in the Basque Country, TV3 in Catalonia, TVG Televisión de Galicia, TPA in Asturias). In the UK, SKY Sports will show prime-time highlights. News access is also available in Sweden via SVT and in Germany via Sport A (ARD and ZDF).

beIN Sport have exclusive rights for France and the United States of America. In Africa, coverage is by beIN Sport and SuperSport. English-speaking Canada is served by Sportsnet, French-speaking Canada by Réseau des sports (RDS). In Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and El Salvador, the Giro is broadcast by Televisa Deportes Network (TDN). In South America, ESPN Sur and ESPN Brasil carries live coverage and highlights.

The Giro d’Italia is broadcast across Asia by Eurosport Asia Pacific. Broadcasting the Giro in China for the first time in race history will be the the national sports channel, CCTV5. Elsewhere in Asia, the race will be broadcast by J Sports (Japan), SONY TV SIX (India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan) and True Visions (Thailand). In Kazakhstan, Khaber TV carries the Giro d’Italia. SBS is the Giro’s Australian broadcaster.
