The third stage of the next edition of the Vuelta a Espana will start in Marin and finish on the climb of Mirador de Ézaro which includes slopes of up to 29%.
Diario de Pontevedra reports that Marin will host the start of the third leg of the Spanish race which will ginish on the steep ascent in Ezaro. It is a wall of less than 2 kilometres, 1.88km, but with an average gradient of 14.% and peaks of 29%. The top is located at 270m of altitude.
Mirador de Ézaro already hosted a stage finish of the 2012 Vuelta where Joaquim Rodriguez lived up to his status as the big favourite by winning ahead of Alberto Contador. The Katusha captain did it again two days later in Ancares, but lost the race in the famous stage to Fuente De where Contador turned the race on its head. Contador won the race ahead of Valverde, Rodriguez and Froome.
The Spanish race will start in Galicia with five stages. The race will tae off from Ourense, possibly with a time trial; Pontevedra will host the finish of the second stage; the third wtill be from Marin to Ézaro; the fourth will link Betanzos with San Andres de Teixido (Cedeira) and the fifth will finish in Lugo.
