STölting have announced their line-up for GP Cerami.

The GP Cerami (1.1) in the Walloon province of Hainaut is named for the Italian-Belgian pro cyclist Giuseppe 'Pino' Ceramo. Born in Sicily, he emigrated to Belgium at the age of five. A pro from 1946 to 1963, a 41-year old Cerami won a stage of the Tour de France in his final pro season and to this day remains the oldest Tour stage winner. Post-retirement the GP Cerami was held in his honour from 1964, with this year seeing the 50th edition. Cerami passed away in 1964.

The race starts in Saint-Ghislain with a 149 km lap through Hainaut and East Flanders that includes several hills known from the spring classics such as La Houppe and the Muur van Geraardsbergen. After almost four laps of a 13.8 km circuit, the race finishes in Frameries after 199.9 km with a gradual incline for the final 1500 m.

For Team Stölting Service Group, the GP Cerami serves as a final test ahead of next week's Tour of Denmark. It will also see Alexander Kamp (DEN) take to the start in his Danish champion's kit for the first time. Also on the roster for the one-day race are Danes Michael Carbel and Mads Pedersen, German riders Gerald Ciolek, Thomas Koep, Sven Reutter and Fabian Wegmann, and Alex Kirsch (LUX). With these eight the team has several aggressive riders who can take their chances in a hard race, but also some options for a sprint.

Sports Director Gregor Willwohl (GER) says: “There are some classics climbs like the Muur van Geraardsbergen but they're quite a way from the finish – I think that the race will come down to a sprint. We want to play an active part, go into breakaways and animate the race. The riders preparing for the Tour of Denmark including our Danish champion Alexander Kamp are all in good form.”
