After cobblestones in Belgium and rainy weather in Switzerland, the next races should be more kind to the riders as Stölting heads to Croatia to take on two 1.2 one-day races. Team Stölting Service Group will start the Trofej Umag with a young, talented line-up including Michael Carbel (DEN), Lennard Kämna (GER), Alex Kirsch (LUX), and Mads Pedersen (DEN).
The Trofej Umag is held on a circuit close to the namesake town, to be ridden several times. Although there is a small ascent on the circuit, the overall profile of the race suits a sprint from a smaller group.
Three days later the Trofej Poreč is held on a circuit a few kilometres further south. The race profile is more challenging, nonetheless a sprint is expected to decide the win. The team for the Trofej Poreč will be strengthened by Sven Reutter (GER) who joins his four teammates.
"The races in Croatia are perfect races for our younger riders to gain experience and to continue their preparation for the bigger races to come. We will aim to try out different tactics in these races and to go for a result when the opportunity arises," says Sports Director Jochen Hahn.
