Fabian Cancellara is the biggest name among the eight riders that will ride the Tour of Belgium for RadioShack-Leopard.
Coming back from a well-earned break after his brilliant Classics season, the Swiss leads a squad also containing four Belgians who may look forward to competing on home soil: Jan Bakelants, Stijn Devolder, Ben Hermans and Maxime Monfort.
After a flat stage 1, stage 2 pays homage to the spring Classics and finishes in Ninove. It will probably be the stage 3 ITT and the hilly stages 4 and 5 that decide the race; and the team’s Belgians will be highly motivated to make their mark.
Andreas Klöden, Grégory Rast and Thomas Rohregger make up the rest of the team that will be directed by sports directors Dirk Demol and Luc Meersman.
