After his dramatic crash, subsequent victory and early abandonment within less than 24 hours at the Vuelta a Espan, it looked like Jasper Stuyven (23) was leaving for an ealy holiday but the Trek rider is back after recovering from a broken wrist.  "It was a shame with my crash in Spain because I would certainly have had my place at the Worlds."

Stuyven crashed heavily in the eighth stage of the Tour Vuelta. Nonetheless, he sprinted to victory but later had to leave the race with a broekn wrist.

His season seemed to be over but Stuyven appeared at the start of Paris-Tours, the last "classic" of the season. "It is difficult to get to the start with a clear ambition," the 23-year-old Stuyven told Sporza.

"I do not really know where I stand compared to my rivals. I feel good and my participation in Paris-Bourges went well. On Sunday I hope to have good legs and then we'll see what can do. I definitely want to finish my season with a good feeling."

With his crash in the Vuelta, Stuyven perhaps missed the Worlds in Richmond."I certainly had my spot in the Worlds team, but I can not turn back time. A first selection at the pro level will have to wait until next year.

"The intention is again to be good in the classics, but I will not be doing too much. First, Paris-Tours and then I want to recharge the batteries during the break."
