The ticket sale for the cyclo-cross World Championships in Heusden-Zolder is booming. 40,000 tickets have already been sold and the organizers are aiming for 80,000 visitors over two days.
The Worlds will be held on January 30-31 on the same circuit that was used for the World Cup race last Saturday. "We are ready," organizer Koen Monu told Spotza. "We have a lot of enthusiasm to make a great event."
The Christmas period has apparently inspired many people to buy a ticket. "Especially on December 24 when we managed to seel no less than 1900 tickets. Apparently, a Worlds ticket was the ideal Christmas present under the Christmas tree, because we have not had such a massive sale on a single day yet.
"Meanwhile, 40,000 tickets have been sold. We are very satisfied and there is still a public holiday before the event so maybe that will again boost the sale." At the presentation of the Worlds one year ago, Monu aimed at 80,000 visitors over two days.
