Shane Sutton has said that the Giro d’Italia would provide perfect preparation for Bradley Wiggins’ track targets in 2015. Wiggins is training for the Spring classics but he may use the giro to prepare himself for the Hour record, thanks to the 59.2km time trial half-way through the race.
“The ideal preparation would be a couple of weeks in the Giro, just like we've done before with [Geraint] Thomas and [Peter] Kennaugh. That's something that Brad and the team will need to decide on,” Sutton told Cyclingnews.
Wiggins may lead the Giro team, although Richie Porte and Leopold Konig are also believed to be in the frame to lead the team, although they may target other stages and the GC.
