Danilo Wyss goes into his ninth year with the BMC Racing Team. In the past season the Swiss again showed why he is appreaciated by the management of the American team. The 30-year-old impressed not only with reliable domestique services but also achieved a few personal results.
Topping the list is the title at the Swiss Road Championships which he won for the first time in his career. But the all-rounder was also fifth at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Race (1.1), fifth in a stage of the Tour of California (2.HC) and tenth at the GP Canton Argovia (1.HC).
"For me it was a very good season. Not only the Swiss title stands out," Wyss told radsport-news.com. He also referred to his first participation in the Tour de France, where he was part of the team time trial winning team. But even without this win, Wyss would regard the Tour de France among the highlights. "Just to start the Tour was something very special for me," he noted.
Also in the coming season Wyss will be a faithful domestique but he also wants to take his pportunities to ride for himself. Participation at the Olympics is the big dream. "I don't know my exact racing calendar yet, but my big goal is to make it into the Swiss selection for Rio," added Wyss.
