An in-form Rein Taaramae again put his good condition on show when he finished second as part of a great Astana showing in stage 2 of the Volta ao Algarve.
"I anticipated the group and I attacked at the beginning of the final climb," Rein Taaramäe said after stage two at the Vuelta ao Algarve in Portugal.
Taaramäe attacked the peloton solo and quickly gained 20 seconds on the climb with 8km to go. Stage winner Geraint Thomas from Great Britain soon followed and passed to take the victory.
Teammate Valerio Agnoli led the peloton to finish third and Luis Leon Sanchez stayed close to finish fourth.
Taaramäe is now second overall in General Classification behind Thomas, with Sanchez three seconds back in fifth.
