Wout Van Aert has added the second edition of the Polderscross in Kruisbeke to his palmares. The youngster again demonstrated his talent by holding off Sven Nys and Klaas Vantornout.
Wout Van Aert took control already in the first lap, with Sven Nys and Klaas Vantornout following in his wheel. The podium was decided right from the beginning but the battle for the top step was a close one.
Nys was set back by a crash but the Belgian champion was quickly able to rejoined the leader. He set a hard pace but Van Aert and Vantornout didn't crack.
The race was finally decided in the muddy sections. Van Aert took his chance and held his position all the way to the finish. Nys beat Vantornout in the battle for second.
