With three victories, Sam Bennett has had an amazing first professional season. In 2015 Team Bora will built a sprint train for the talented Irishman.

Sam Bennett had to end his successful debut season at NetApp Endura earlier than planned. The 24-year-old Irishman had been scheduled to do both the Münsterland Giro and Paris-Tours but missed both races. In that way, Bennett ends his season with three victories, all taken in the first half of the year: Clasica de Almeria, Rund um Köln and the final stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt.

"Sam had some health issues in recent weeks so we decided to start his winter break with a view towards the new season now the winter break," team manager Ralph Denk told radsport-news.com. He expects a further increase in performance in the coming year from his promising sprinter.

For this, Bennett who extended his contract with the German pro continental team until the end of 2017, will be supported by a specially built sprint train that has been strengthened by the team management. Young Phil Bauhaus comes from Team Stölting and his former lead-out man Shane Archbold has been signed from Bennett's old team An Post - Chain Reaction. Björn Thurau, new signing from Team Europcar, will also play an important role in the train.

"Furthermore, we still have successful sprinters like Daniel Schorn and Ralf Matzka and riders like Jan Barta, Zak Dempster, Andreas Schillinger and Michael Schwarzmann who have already done a great job already in the lead-outs," Denk added.

Despite the bolstered train, the 40-year-old manager refuses to compare his team to the big sprint squads like Giant-Shimano.

"That would be a bit too much," said the team manager, referring to the two German super sprinters Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb. "But we do not want to be limited to the sprints. In the stage races we also want to finish as high as possible in the overall standings."
