Team Colombia have announced their formidable roster for the coming Tour Mediterranean, certainly hoping to use their exceptional climbing skills to animate the action on the steep ramps of Mont Faron.

The stage race held in the southern France between 13 and 16 February, recently won by Thomas Lofkvist of IAM Cycling, has to be considered as a first of great opportunities for the Colombian Pro Continental team climbers to shine, as the queen stage concluded with a mountaintop finish at Mont Faron is where the final overall standings will be sorted out.

Thus, it comes as no big surprise that Team Colombia have formed a highly formidable roster for that occasion, with Fabio Duarte as a leader of the squad supported by other reliable climber in the likes of Robinson Chalapud, Leonardo Duque or Jarlinson Pantano.

Duarte will receive a chance to test his legs on the steep ramps of Mont Faron after he debuted this season in the mountainous Tour de San Luis held in January in Argentina, while Duque would certainly hope to animate the happenings during first three days of the competition, as the peloton will hit the well known roads of Provence, where he currently lives.

The newly signed 26-year old Rodolfo Torres is also expected to shine in the race, as he debuted in the Team Colombia outfit in style this season by finishing Gran Premio Costa degli Etruschi inside the top fifteen.
