According to Cycling Weekly, talented Owain Doull will step up to the World Tour level and ride for the Europcar outfit next season.
The 21-year old Welshmen, currently riding for the An Post-ChainReaction squad, was a part of the Cycling Olympic Academy Programme and, regarded as highly talented, has already taken an overall victory at the Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux this year, winning one stage in the process. Doull also participated in the recently concluded World Championships in Ponferrada, where he finished 19th in the under-23 road race.
Doull admitted that he will join the World Tour squad for the 2015 season, but refused to reveal with which outfit he decided to connect his nearest future.
“As it stands I’m not staying with AnPost for 2015,” the 21-year old Welshman told Cycling Weekly.
“An arrangement is pretty much in place but it is too early to say what that is.”
The Europcar spokesmen also refused to comment on this issue.
If the move is confirmed, Doull will become the first British rider to represent a top-tier French team since Bradley Wiggins raced with Cofidis in 2007.
