Team NetApp – Endura has secured invitations for two Italian World Tour races. From March 6-12, the highest ranked German team in professional cycling will line up for Tirreno – Adriatico for the first time. September 29th will also see a premiere for Team NetApp – Endura in the shape of Il Lombardia.
“We are delighted to be able to take part in these Italian races for the first time. Both races are important milestones for us in spring and fall,” said Ralph Denk, Team Manager of Team NetApp – Endura.
Tirreno – Adriatico is a one-week stage race taking place in spring between Italy’s coasts. The prestigious tour is primarily for sprinters and all-rounders.
Il Lombardia is traditionally the last big classic of the cycling season. The cycling monument will be held for the 107th time this year.
The German team’s joy was tempered by its non-consideration for the Giro d’Italia. “After our outstanding presence in 2012, we would have liked to have challenged for a stage victory this year. But we understand that these decisions are incredibly complex for race organizers and thus take them in a sporting manner,” continued Denk.
