Porte aims at Paris-Nice, Froome confirmed for Tirreno-Adriatico.
Team Sky will face a busy race schedule during March as the team seeks to augment its number of early season wins with a full programme of racing, the team has announced on its website. The British team will do battle in France, Italy, Spain and Belgium, with almost all of the team's big guns in action.
Team captain Bradley Wiggins has chosen not to defend his title at Paris-Nice (March 3-10), but Vasil Kiryienka, Richie Porte and Kanstantsin Siutsou will attempt to bring home success in France for the team. Chris Froome, still enjoying his win in the Tour of Oman, will try to clinch another stage race victory in Italy at Tirreno-Adriatico (March 6-12).
The team will be fielding its Classics riders in Milano-San Remo after they have spent time training at altitude in Tenerife instead of riding either the Paris-Nice or the Tirreno-Adriatico. Edvald Boasson Hagen and Geraint Thomas are presumed to lead the squad for the first major one-day race of the season on March 17.
Bradley Wiggins carries on with his carefully constructed programme for the Giro d'Italia by riding the Volta a Catalunya (March 18-24). There he will enjoy the support of Rigoberto Urán, Dario Cataldo, Josh Edmondson, Peter Kennaugh, Christian Knees, David López and Danny Pate.
Late March sees the Criterium International (March 23-24) before Belgium and northern France return to the centre of attention with the cobbled Classics. Froome will head the team as he scrutinizes the roads in Corsica for the depart of this year's Tour de France. American hopefuls Ian Boswell and Joe Dombrowsim and Briton Jonathan Tiernan-Locke will join Froome in the two-day race.
The Team Sky Classics squad will return to Belgium on March 20 for Dwars door Vlaanderen and then ride E3 Prijs Vlaanderen (March 22), Gent-Wevelem (March 24) and then the big race: Ronde van Vlaanderen on March 31. In the Team Sky classics squad are: Edvald Boasson Hagen, Bernhard Eisel, Mathew Hayman, Salvatore Puccio, Gabriel Rasch, Luke Rowe, Ian Stannard, Chris Sutton, Ben Swift and Geraint Thomas.
