With today’s announcement of a new sponsorship of Team Wanty - Groupe Gobert is back in the world of professional cycling. The partnership will enable Kuota Cycle to test its products on the classic cycling race routes of the North as well as during the most important European competitions.

“After a short break we are back in the world of professional cycling at a competitive level thanks to the strong experience we have gained in the course of time,” says Kuota manager Maurizio Canzi

“We will provide some products of the already existing range; Kuota Kom for road cycling and Kalibur for time trials. The team also has some great riders to count on for the spring races featuring the well-known climbs of Belgium and the Netherlands. For these occasions we are developing some specially made products with specific technical requirements. The captains for this kind of competitions would be Bjorn Leukemans, who has obtained good result in the spring classics. He won a 4th place in the 2010 Tour of Flanders and was 7th in 2011. He has also won a 4th in Paris-Roubaix.”

The partnership with the Wanty – Groupe Gobert team is strategic for the development of the brand in terms of image. The Italian race calendar is also worth considering for Kuota.

“It would be a great pleasure for us to be invited to any of the main races in Italy. Actually we are dreaming of taking part in the Giro d’Italia since one of our riders, Kevin Seeldraeyers, wore the white jersey for best young in 2009”.

The new team’s first official outing with the Kouta bicycles will take place in Benidorm, Spain, where the team will start the winter training in January. That will be the occasion for the riders to test all the material.

Here is the roster of the Wanty – Groupe Gobert led by team manager Jean Francois Bourlart:

Tim De Troyer, Thomas Degand, Jempy Drucker, Jerome Gilbert, Gregory Habeaux, Roy Jans, Kevin Van Melsen, James Vanlandschoot, Frederik Backaert, Jerome Baugnies, Laurens De Vreese, Jan Ghyselinck, Nico Sijmens, Michel Kreder, Wesley Kreder, Bjorn Leukemans, Mirko Selvaggi, Frederik Veuchelen, Frederique Robert, Kevin Seeldraeyers and Marco Minnaard.
