Scheldeprijs organizers have announced 25 teams to take part in the 103rd edition of the sprinters classics, held this year on April 8. So far unimpressive this season, Marcel Kittel will be given an opportunity to make history by winning the event for the fourth consecutive time, but a stiff competition should be expected as remaining 11 of invited WorldTour squads will certainly line up at the start with in-form fast finishers.
Giant-Shimano, Etixx-Quick Step, Katusha, Ag2r-La Mondiale, Astana, FDJ, Lotto-Soudal, Cannondale-Garmin, LottoNL-Jumbo, Team Sky, Tinkoff-Saxo and Trek Factory are all expected to take the start of the event.
The Scheldeprijs line-up will be completed by 13 Pro Continental squads, particularly Bora - Argon 18, Bretagne - Séché, Cofidis, Cult Energy, MTN - Qhubeka, Europcar, Team Roompot, Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise, UnitedHealthcare, Wanty - Groupe Gobert , Androni Giocattoli, Nippo-Vini Fantini and Southeast.
