Laurent Ten Dam knows highs and lows on this Tour de France 2015. The LottoNL Jumbo rider fell sharply during the first week of racing. But in recent days, he seems to have found good legs and he hopes to be present at the front in the Alps, although he suffers from bronchitis.
"I take antibiotics for a few days," he explains to the NSA. "With the stage at Plateau de Beille, I think I caught a cold and I suffer from bronchitis. Now we think of the Alps. I trained hard to be at the top. After the Tour of Switzerland, I went to recognize the stages of last week. I'm not at the top, but I think I can help Robert Gesink."
Ten Dam is one of the most experienced Dutch riders in the World Tour peloton. But he does not think to stop there. "My last Tour de France? No. I want to do one more year." His contract expires at the end of the season.
