According to Belga, the UCI has decided to reconfigure the elite men's road race for the 2016 World Championsips in Doha, Qatar. The new course will put riders into the desert for 151 kilometers before reaching the city for seven laps of a circuit.
Previously, the route of the Worlds road race included 80 km leading into 11 laps of the technical circuit in Doha with 1.2km of cobblestones but the organizers have wanted to reduce the race's predictability.
The start of the men's race was also moved to the Aspire Zone, with the riders heading out northwards towards Al Khor and returning to Doha.
