The charm of the dirt roads of the Tro Bro Leon could be starring in the next editions of the Tour de France.
According to a report in Le Télégramme, the city of Brest which is the main city in the department of Finistere, is officially a candidate to host the finish of a stage of the Grande Boucle in 2017 or 2018 . This would be a return after the Grand Depart in 2008 but on this occasion it might be different as the intention is to propose a course that includes dirt road sections known from the French one-day race Tro Bro Leon.
If the plans are realized, ASO will follow a trend already seen in the Giro which has had stages on the gravel roads of Tuscany. Such a stage features again in the 2016 edition.
