The Vuelta a Espana will feature two new finishes in Asturias, in Sotres and Ermita de Alba on stages 15 and 16 respectively. The stages will finish on two hard climbs with explosive ramps.
According to La Nueva Espana, "race director Javier Guillen made an agreement with the officials of the region about those two finishes in November."
On Sunday September 6, the Vuelta will arrive in Asturias from Catabria. The first stage will finish in Sobres, a small town located 1,050 meters above sea level. The stage ends with a long climb which has several sections of around 15% and even exceeds 20% at one point.

La Nueva Espana reports that the organizers consider the latter stage as the queen stage of the 70th edition of the race and that the route is not yet fully determined but will include several climbs, including the Cobertoria.
