Dutch Belkin Pro Cycling team riders Theo Bos and Graeme Brown will return to track racing during Rotterdam Six Day event, held in January 2014, where should they meet a strong competition from track best combinations and other road cyclists aiming to participate. Nevertheless, 30-year old Dutchmen does not hide his high expectations concerning the final result.
"I am looking forward to it," Theo Bos told cyclingnews.com
"Graeme is a rider with lots of experience on the track."
"A podium place is our ambition but we really want to ride for the overall victory," Bos stated
Both Belkin team riders have strong foundations to believe in their overall success, having a splendid track-records from the past in their palmares. Theo Bos holds three sprint world titles and took the gold on the one kilometer race in Los Angeles in 2005, as well as he won the Olympic silver medal at the Olympic Games in Athens. Graeme Brown won two gold medals in Athens: in the team pursuit and in the Madison with Stuart O'Grady, outsprinting his future team-mate on one occasion.
Despite impressive results from track cycling, the duo is expected to face a strong competition for the victory in Rotterdam Six Day in the likes of defending champions Iljo Keisse and Niki Terpstra, Belgians Kenny de Ketele and Jasper de Buyst who won this year Amsterdam (paired with Gijs van Hoecke) and Ghent (with Leif Lamparter) respectively, or Wim Stroetinga who pairs with Orica-Greenedge's Jens Morris.
The reigning world champions Madison Vivien Brisse and Morgan Kneisky are also on the startlist as well as the Dutch duo Yoeri Havik and Nick Stöpler, Danish duo Michael Mørkøv/Alex Rasmussen, the Swiss pair Tristan Marguet and Franco Marvulli, Garmin-Sharp's Raymond Kreder and Leif Lampater, American duo Daniel Holloway and Guy East and the Dutch pairs Michel Kreder/Wesley Kreder and Melvin Boskamp/Jesper Asselman.
The organization will announce other pairs shortly as well as the competitors to the Sprint Masters tournament. Olympic and world champion Jason Kenny will return to the track in Rotterdam but the three other sprinters are still unknown.
