When BMC Racing Team rider Taylor Phinney crashed out of Sunday’s race at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, he required several stitches to his left knee. The crash came the day after Phinney placed inside the top-ten at het Nieuwsblad.
Now recuperating from his injury, Phinney faces another few weeks of competitive inactivity before removing his stitches. "I am doing better than I expected. I can already move my knee better today than last night. I have a great support network here in Nice and have spent all day rehabbing," Phinney said according to Cyclingnews.com.
"I will try to ride tomorrow (Tuesday). At this point, I am taking things one day at a time, but feel after only one day that I am ahead of schedule. I am supposed to keep the stitches in for two weeks total."
