With less than a month to go until the Tour de France, the Tour de Suisse (June 13-21) should see a fiercely contested general classification battle.
The race provides the perfect test of ability with a wide variety of stages on offer, and it will be the final outing for many riders before they head off to the second Grand Tour of the season. And while the main contenders won’t want to peak too soon, this WorldTour event should give a good indication of who’s got the form heading into a busy summer of racing.
With two time trials, a host of mountain stages and the potential for sprint finishes, the race will see a range of riders given a chance of glory over nine gruelling days.
Geraint Thomas and Sergio Henao will lead the Team Sky charge, and they are joined in a formidable eight-man line-up by Bernhard Eisel, Christian Knees, David Lopez, Lars Petter Nordhaug, Danny Pate and Kanstantsin Siutsou.
