Out of contract with Giant-Shimano, Thomas Damuseau decided to leave the Dutch team. At 25 years old, the young French has still not signed a new contract and could end up on the floor next season.
According to the Vox Stadium, he explains his choice : "The team has not given me a fairly substantial program with only the final fifty days of racing this year, so that I need more to work well. The last few weeks have been special because I knew for a while that I was going to leave them, but I continued to do my work honestly and 100% for the other riders to whom I respect, this really was not reciprocal with respect to the team. The way they treated me is not acceptable. Perhaps it was this intended for me to go myself. I can not speak for the moment, I'm under contract until December. I have had no contact since June with leaders. I tried to contact them by email, sms, phone ... no answer."
He added : "My agent, Michel Gros, actively working to find me a new structure. I am willing to make a financial sacrifice, what I want is to develop myself in my job and that you respect my work. Obviously, I tasted high and I want to stay there. now we are in October and I have to be realistic. The days are numbered and my chances are diminishing every week. I also intend to resume my education if nothing came."
The young French is not discouraged, however, and will now take the start of Paris-Bourges which takes place today, where he will serve John Degenkolb.
