Thomas Dekker, who has no team for next season, does not want to stop pedaling. Indeed, he announced in the Dutch media that he want to beat the hour record next spring.
"This will be one of the toughest races of my life, but I do not worry me. I'm not afraid. I'm going to push myself hard in the coming months to get in shape. I will focus only on that day," he told Algemeen Dagblad.
Although he has no contract, this challenge is a source of motivation. "The world record is a great challenge. There is no possible excuse. It's very simple. You beat the record or not. If you succeed, you are a hero. This is life or death."
He was not retained by the Garmin Sharp merged with Cannondale. "I'm disappointed, but all the doors are all closed. I could ride at a small Italian team, however, it does not suit me."
