Most teams have finalized their rosters for 2017 and this means that a few riders are left on the market. Some of them have decided to hang up their bikes and recently Murilo Fischere, Travis Meyer and Pablo Urtasun who have all been riding for WorldTour teams have opted to hang up their bikes.
Murilo Fischer has confirmed his decision to Ciclismo Internacional. He has been the leading Brazilian rider for many years and has spent a big part of his career at FDJ where he has been a key part of Arnaud Demare's sprint train in recent years. He took six major wins as a professional, most notably a stage at the Tour de Pologne in 2007. He last won a race in 2011 when he became Brazilian national champion.
Travis Meyer is the younger brother of Cameron but he has failed to reached the same lofty heights as his sibling. He turned professional with Cannondale and became Australian national champion in 2010. After two years at Orica-GreenEDGE, he has spent the last three years at the Drapac team but failed to get a contract with new merged Cannondale-Drapac team.
Pablo Urtasun has confirmed his decision to Marca. Known as a sprinter, he spent several years with the Euskaltel team. After their demise, he spent two years in continental teams before he joined the Brazilian Funvic team for 2016 as one of the team leaders. He took five major wins as a professional, most of them in Spain. His only big international success was a stage win at the 2012 Tour of Britain.
