Three French riders have decided to hang up the bike at the end of 2015: Thomas Damuseau, Jean-Luc Delpech and Blaise Sonnery.
Damuseau, 26, turned pro in 2011 with Skil - Shimano after a time as stagiaire in the last months of the previous season. The French rider remained in the Dutch team (which in the meantime had changed main sponsor to Argos and then Giant) until 2014 when the contract was not renewed. In 2015 it dropped to the continental level, defending the colors of Roubaix Lille Metropole . Despite never winning among the professionals, the Grenoble native had his best season in 2013 when he won the mountains classification of the Dauphine, finished in third place at the GP La Marseillaise and finished the Giro, the only grand tour of his career. After a career as a rider, he will resume his studies.
Delpech, 36, was a professional from 2005 to 2013, always in the Bretagne jersey but in the last two years he raode woth the amateurs. He won 8 races in the highest category, most notably Boucles de l'Aulne in 2010 and a stage of La Tropicale Amissa Bongo in 2008. Most likely his future will be in the technical staff of a French amateur team.
Sonnery, 30, has raced as a professional with Ag2r from2007 to 2009 (after being a stagiaire in 2005) and with Bridgestone - Anchor in 2012. In the last three years, like in 2010 and 2011, he rode with the amateurs. Never a winner in his seasons as a pro, he took his only victory in a UCI race in 2006 when he won a stage of the Ronde de l'Isard. He took part in two Giri d'Italia (2008 and 2009), finishing both editions.
