Team Colombia will race three Italian one-day races to wrap up their season : Coppa Sabatini (Friday October 9th), Giro dell’Emilia (Saturday October 11th) and Trofeo Beghelli (Sunday October 12th).
Coppa Sabatini features the classic final circuit to be repeated 6 times, characterized by the Peccioli hill where two years ago Fabio Duarte kicked out to claim an impressive win. The Giro dell-Emilia is very difficult with a tough finale on the San Luca climb (ramps up to 20% gradient), to be repeated 5 times. The GP Beghelli, won in 2013 by Leonardo Duque, presented a steep path (the Zappolino climb).
“The season is getting to a close, and we are asking the guys for one last effort”, Pellicioli explained in a press release. “The Coppa Sabatini is suited to puncheurs, whilst the Giro dell’Emilia is a very difficult race. Our goal is to give the best to end the season on a good note”.
