Wanty-Groupe Gobert will employ three stagiaires for the upcoming months. They are Belgian riders Robin Stenuit and Kevin Callebaut plus Romain Barroso from France.
“Robin is a guy who was part of Veranda’s Willems, Wanty-Groupe Gobert’s predecessor, in 2010,” sports director Hilaire Van Der Schueren explains. “This season he showed that he can win races and has a strong finish on tough courses.”
Stenuit is 25 years old and won three races this season already for his team Veranclassic-Ekoi: Memorial Philippe van Coningsloo (1.2), GP de la Ville de Nogent-sur-Oise (1.2) and a stage in the Tour de Gironde (2.2) where he also finished third in the overall classification.
The 23-year old Kevin Callebaut comes from Zottegem, East-Flanders. Hij is reasonably fast at the line and will predominantly ride Wanty-Groupe Gobert’s French race programme. This year Callebaut rides for Cibel CT
French rider Romain Barroso is the third rider to reinforce Wanty-Groupe Gobert. He is 22 years old and rides for Guidon Challetois. He was recently crowned champion of the Centre region in France.
“Barroso is a young rider who feels well on difficult courses like the Tour du Limousin and the Poly Normande,” Van Der Schueren adds. “Those French races are the kind of races he will ride for us the coming months.”
