It is commonly expected that BMC Racing, Etixx – Quick-Step and Orica-GreenEDGE will decide the podium of the World Championship TTT between themselves, but former ITT world champion Michael Rogers believes that Tinkoff-Saxo can play a role in a rivalry on Sunday.
“I think we’ve got the best six guys we could field here on the team, and we’re mentally ready for it and also excited,” Rogers said.
“We’re feeling good. We’ve had quite a good opportunity to train together over the last four days. We haven’t done really any long-term work because this time of year it’s very hard to get six or seven guys together to train specifically for it.
“The team had a very heavy race calendar through August and the first weeks of September. So we’re happy considering the amount of time we’ve spent together.”
Experienced Australian agreed the course designed for this year's team time trial is not demanding technically, and so it will be all about a right pacing. He also noted that wind can be another key factor.
