Oleg Tinkov continues his plan to give Tinkoff-Saxo a stronger Russian flavour. The team has signed Pavel Brutt from Katusha and extended the contract with Nikolai Trussov.
Tinkoff-Saxo is glad to announce that the team has signed Pavel Brutt. The Russian rider will join the team in 2015 on a two-year contract after having been on Team Katusha since 2009. Owner Oleg Tinkov is pleased to bring the 32-year old and former Russian champion onboard the team.
“Pavel is a rider with a lot of strength and power and he will be very helpful for us at the spring races and classics and at the 3 week races because of his durability. I believe he will show his talent during the next two seasons”, says Oleg Tinkov.
But in fact, Brutt is not an unfamiliar face to the team owner. In 2006 to 2008 he rode for Tinkov’s Pro Continental team Tinkoff Credit Systems, where he won a stage in Giro d’Italia in 2008. Brutt tells that he’s looking forward to joining the team in 2015.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity. I’m grateful to Oleg Tinkov for believing in me and I will do my very best to be useful for the team”, says Pavel Brutt upon the announcement of the new contract.
Furthermore Tinkoff-Saxo has chosen to extend with Nikolay Trusov. The team wants to recognize the hard work Trusov has done during this season by offering the 29-year old Russian rider a new contract for the next seasons.
