Tinkoff-Saxo have selected their roster for Milan-Sanremo and with Roman Kreuziger and Daniele Bennati both present, they will have covered their bases. The in-form Czech will be ready to cover moves on the Poggio while Bennati will be on hand in case of a sprint finish.
Tinkoff-Saxo had a highly successful Tirreno-Adriatico and now they will try to continue their run of success when they line up for the second Italian WorldTour race, Milan-Sanremo. Even though Tirreno winner Alberto Contador will be focused on the Volta a Catalunya which starts on Monday, the team has a very powerful roster.
The team leader will be Daniele Bennati who showed excellent condition in Tirreno when he sprinted to a top 10 finish in the hard finale in Arezzo on the third day of Tirreno. He went on to finish just outside the top 10 in yesterday's time trial and he will be eager to improve on his 5th place in the 2010 edition of the Italian classic.
For the attacks on the Poggio, the team can count on Roman Kreuziger who finished 3rd overall in Tirreno despite riding in support of Contador. The team can also count on the climbing strength of Nicolas Roche and the experience of Karsten Kroon and Matteo Tosatto. Danes Nicki Sørensen, Christopher Juul Jensen and Michael Mørkøv complete the roster.
A notable absentee is Matti Breschel who would usually have been one of the leaders for this race. However, the Dane crashed while riding in Oman earlier this year and his injuries made it impossible for him to finish last week's Paris-Nice.
