Astana had a mixed day on the final stage of the Tour Down Under. While Ruslan Tleubayev proved his potential as a sprinter in the bunch sprint, Luis Leon Sanchez was held up behind a crash and dropped to 13th in the overall standings.

“The last turn, I was in fifteenth position and when the sprint started I recovered to eight place," Ruslan Tleubayev said. after stage six at the Tour Down Under. Tleubayev came along with forty riders after a big crash split the peloton in the final five km.

Teammate Lars Boom led the day’s 6-man breakaway in a nervous final race criterium through Adelaide. Dutch rider Wouter Wippert won the final sprint, Australian rider Rohan Dennis won the final overall classification.
