Just ten points separate the top three teams in the Ghent Six Days going into the final two days. Iljo Keisse and Michael Mørkøv regained the lead but this may prove to be a short-lived pleasure as both Van Hoecke/De Ketele and Vergaerde/De Buyst are just a handful of points from gaining a bonus lap that will see them overhaul the current leaders.
De Ketele/Van Hoecke won the first Madison of the evening, gaining a lap on their two main rivals. That deficit was turned around in the second Madison of the evening, though, as both Vergaerde/De Buyst and Keisse/Mørkøv regained the lap, the latter duo taking the Madison win.
Seeing that both their major rivals are likely to gain a bonus lap early on Saturday evening, Keisse/Mørkøv will have to lap both their rivals during the final two days if they are to win the Six Days.
