George Bennett must take a forced rest. The New Zealander of LottoNL-Jumbo suffer from glandular fever. "Next week we will know what this is exactly about,” a spokeswoman for the team told Wielerflits.
The 10th place finisher of the last Vuelta a España shared the news via Twitter.
“Precautionary rest after glandular fever (aka the kissing disease ) a month or two ago," Bennett wrote. "My summer might be fucked but at least something I’m getting some.”
According LottoNL-Jumbo, next week will bring more clarity.
"Then George will undergo some blood tests in the hospital. Once more is known about George's condition, we will communicate that," the spokeswoman said.
