After the magnificient 2014 season that honoured the team's value in the best possible way, Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise is already working towards 2015 and has confirmed 24 riders.

 

The Belgian team led by Christophe Sercu has done very well on the European calendar, with an early victory in the GP Marseillaise and a late win in Paris-Tours, and so finished as the best team in the UCI Europe Tour.

 

Tom Van Asbroeck who won the individual ranking in the Europe Tour, makes the jump to Team LottoNL, Zico Waeytens has signed with Giant-Alpecin, Yves Lampaert goes to Etixx-Quick Step, Jasper De Buyst to Lotto-Soudal and Michael van Staeyen and Kenneth Vanbilsen to Cofidis.

 

 

They will be replaced by a new group of talents. Amaury Capiot (1993), Floris De Tier (1992), Oliver Naesen (1990), Jef Van Meirhaeghe (1992), Bert Van Lerberghe (1992) and Jens Wallays (1992) are the six new signings. They join Victor Campenaerts, Kenny De Ketele, Moreno De Pauw, Tim Declercq, Sander Helven, Pieter Jacobs, Eliot Lietaer, Jonas Rickaert, Jarl Salomein, Thomas Sprengers, Stijn Steels, Edward Theuns, Preben Van Hecke, Gijs Van Hoecke, Arthur Vanoverberghe, Pieter Vanspeybrouck, Otto Vergaerde and Jelle Wallays who will stay with the team.

 

All riders are now gathered for the first time in Ghent under the supervision of team managers Walter Planckaert, Hans De Clercq and Andy Missotten.

 

Several of the riders are competing on the track. De Pauw, Rickaert, Vergaerde, De Ketele and Van Hoecke are the nucleus of the treck team and in collaboration with the Flemish Cycling Federation, they are preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

 

Manager Walter Planckaert recently talked about the excellent 2014 season.
