The Volta a Catalunya (1986) will be the first major task for Victor de la Parte next year in what will be his first WorldTour race. The Spaniard will mostly be riding in his home country in his first year with CCC Sprandi-Polkowice.
De la Parte has made the step from the continental category and will be able to ride more at home after his previous years at SP Tableware, Efapel and Team Vorarlberg. For example, his 2015 started at the Tou de Taiwan and the previous year kicked off in Algeria.
Volta a la Valenciana, Clasica de Almeria, Vuelta a Murcia, Vuelta a Andalucia and Catalonia are the first five races for de la Parte after he has returned home following 12 days of training in Calpe. After Christmas, he will return to the Alicante coast between January 4-21 and will then be presented with the rest of his teammates in Poland.
The Volta a Catalunya will be his first WorldTour race at age 29 as he failed to do a single race in that category while riding for Caja Rural in 2011. Since then he has not had access to that calendar with his continental teams.
In 2015 he took an important step up with the final victory in the Tour of Austria (2.HC) after winning two stages- In addition to his win in Austria, he won another stage race, the Fleche du Sud (2.2), and a stage in the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt (2.2). He was fifth in the Tour de Taiwan, sixth in the Spanish time trial championships and 11th in the Czech Cycling Tour (2.1).
After his debut with Caja Rural in 2011, he has been riding for the continental teams SP Tableware (Greece) in 2012, Efapel (Portugal) in 2013 and 2014 Vorarlberg (Austria) in 2015.
