Johann Tschopp has been endorsed as the sole leader of the IAM Cycling team for the upcoming Tour of Romandie (23-28 April).
In the aftermath of the races this past weekend (Tour du Finistère, Tro-Bro Léon, Amstel Gold Race), Team Manager Serge Beucherie, in agreement with the squad’s sports directors, has announced the 8 riders who will show off the IAM Cycling colors at the Swiss race.
In spite of the fact they have lost Thomas Löfkvist to injury, IAM Cycling will have several cards to play in their attempt to figure prominently in the overall classification as well as the race for stage wins. Serge Beucherie laid it on the line: “We are certainly not going in as the favorites. With all the WorldTour teams there, the competition will be fierce. But we will be able to make a strong argument for ourselves on our favorite terrain. Our goals will be the same as they have been all season, and we will be very active within the peloton. Johann Tschopp will have the status of sole leader for the event.”
IAM Cycling line-up for Tour of Romandie:
Matthias Brändle (Aut), Rémi Cusin (Fr), Jonathan Fumeaux (S), Reto Hollenstein (S), Gustav Larsson (Su), Sébastien Reichenbach (S), Johann Tschopp (S), Marcel Wyss (S).
