After not being offered a new contract with Lampre-Merida (TJ Sport in 2017), Ilia Koshevoy has finally found a place in the Wilier-Selle Italia team in the pro continental division.
Several weeks ago, a frustrated Koshevoy launched an appeal to teams with available spots through social networks. That strategy has worked since Koshevoy has finally signed a one-year contract with Wilier manager Angelo Citracca for 2017.
In the Italian team, Koshevoy will try to bounce back and return to the WorldTour quickly. The Belarusian is a strong climber who was close to a stage win at last year's Vuelta.
Koshevoy is the third signing for the Italian team after Alex Turrin and Miguel Eduardo Florez.
