La Tropicale Amissa Bongo (2.1, Gabon) has announced 15 teams for next edition which will be held over seven stages between January 18 and 24.
The 15 teams are: Direct Energie, Fortuneo-Vital Concept and Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour (Professional Continental); SkyDive Dubai and Bike Aid (Continental); and the national teams of Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Morocco and Rwanda.
Rafaa Chtioui won in 2015; Nathanael Berhane beat of Luis Leon Sanchez and Egoitz García 2014; Yohann Gene was the best in 2013; Anthony Charteau dominated the race three years in a row in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and Matthieu Ladagnous won in 2009, Lilian Jegou in 2008, Frederic Guesdon in 2007 and Jussi Veikkanen in 2006.
Thomas Voeckler has announced that he will make his season debut in the African race.
