According to Spaziociclismo, Amets Txurruka will continue to entertain all cycling enthusiasts with his ill-timed but always impressively aggressive attacks at least one more year, as he has extended his contract with Caja Rural through 2015.
The 2014 season certainly wasn’t the most successful one in Txurruka’s career as his trademark attacks were never meant to be concluded with stage victories. Thanks to his relative consistency, however, the 31-year old Basque has recently won the Tour du Gevaudan Languedoc-Roussillon general classification after finishing runner-up at event’s first stage, what certainly encouraged Caja Rural to keep one of the most aggressive riders of the professional peloton on board.
Thus, Txurruka will ride in the Spanish Pro Continental team outfit for third consecutive year after he had wisely departed from the Euskaltel-Euskadi sinking ship in the end of 2012.
