The list of woes for Caja Rural-Seguros RGA egts longer. After crashes for Carlos Barbero and Angel Madrazo, Amets Txurruka was the next to hit the ground. In the nervous finale of the fourth stage of the Etoile de Bessèges, the Basque crashed with just two kilometers to go while trying to position Peio Bilbao for the uphill sprint.

Txurruka suffered an incomplete fracture of the left clavicle which has given him lots of problems throughout his career. At the moment, it is impossible to say when he will be back in competition.
