Amets Txurruka was in the spotlight on stage two of the Vuelta al Pais Vasco where he was in the early break and took the mountains jersey. After his Caja Rural teammate Omar Fraile had been animating stage one, Txurruka took over today. To complete the great performance of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Pello Bilbao finished in 8th position, claiming the 10th Top 10 for the team this year, and is also 8th overall after being in front in both stages.

Sergio Pardilla who crashed out on stage one, is under observation and remains in a stable condition.

"We tried," Txurruka said. "It was complicated win from a break, but we must try. I am a little short in preparation, but after the Volta I have better feelings and try to do a good job. We must take our chanves every day, that is the soul of our team. We try every day throughout the season. On the first day Omar did a great job and this time it was me. Pello also did well so things are going well. However, it is not easy to enjoy it when you know that Sergio Pardilla is in a complicated situation after the crash were times harsh.
