Things only got more exciting during yesterday's fourth day of the Six-Days of Rotterdam, with four teams now sitting on the same lap ahead of the final two days. Below, UIV president Henrik Elmgreen gives his analysis of the final madison of an exciting Sunday in the Netherlands.

Even if it was Sunday in AHOY the pro riders had to do two Madisons, the first of 100 laps and the second 200 laps.  In the first one it was obviously time for repairs for some teams. The big teams were not very enthusiastic and the victory went to Brisse – Hester ahead of the Kreder cousins. Seven teams on zero, but none of the four top teams.

The power was saved for the last 200 laps, and with less than 20 laps to go, at a time when one could have imagined that the storm was over, with Mouris – Stroetinga one lap ahead and eager to have their flowers, the Danes attacked and went for a lap.  Could they do it, so close to the end?  Yes, they could and they were now even with the Dutchmen.  But Mouris –Stroetinga counter-attacked with 10 laps to go, and that with so great power that for a moment you could believe, that they could go the whole way around and again be one lap ahead. That wasn’t going to happen, but they secured their victory and their flowers. And that brought us back with four teams all on zero before the last two days of racing  in Rotterdam.
